Quantitative and qualitative data were collected from household clusters in three agro ecological zones from male and female food producers and traders on food supply (agricultural production) and demand (household food consumption) and food prices. The major food chains (goats, coffee, corn, beans, fish, citrus fruits, other cash crops) and charcoal were analyzed and mapped.
Using a participatory approach, local government and community representatives from different sectors identified and mapped the major risks in the communes of Anse à Pitres and Thiotte. Measures of mitigation were formulated to strengthen local institutions and community groups and reduce the vulnerability of families. Recommendations were made for the prevention and management of disasters, mitigation of current and future risks, and increasing social dotations.
Quality of Haiti health services (2001)

Qualitative data were collected on the quality of health services provided by non-profit and mixed institutions in urban and rural sites in the North, Center, West, and South regions from a randomly selected medical provider or community health worker and a community leader and mothers who used the facility. Cost of medicine, transportation, provider attitude and availability, availability of services and medicine, and patient education define quality of health services.

Child Health Week (CHW) was first implemented nation wide in Haiti in 2004 . Data were collected from a cross sectional sample of children 6 to 59 months of age in the departments of the Northwest, Nippes and the West. The caregivers of the children were interviewed about their participation in 2004 CHW, vitamin A supplementation during CHW and during the past year verified by the child’s health or vaccination card, communication channels for information, knowledge about vitamin A, and perceptions of CHW.
